    String summary "A 3 m. diameter meteorological / oceanographic buoy built by AXYS Environmental Technologies of Sidney, British Columbia. The buoy is located at the Pilot Boarding Station for Placentia Bay in about 153 m. water depth. This buoy's purpose is to monitor surface conditions at the Pilot Boarding Station in support of safer and more efficient pilot and tanker operations.The buoy is capable of measuring a variety of atmospheric and surface conditions including: wind speed and direction, air temperature, humidity, dew point, barometric pressure, water temperature, current speed and direction (0.5 m. depth), wave height, direction and period as well as wave spectral information. The buoy is also equipped with an Aids to Navigation Information System (ATONiS) allowing direct transmittal of the buoy data to a ship's bridge.Data from the buoy is available in near-real time and is utilized by SmartBay partner AMEC Earth and Environmental to generate custom weather and sea-state forecasts for Placentia Bay as well as the site-specific forecasts for this location in support of safer and more efficient pilot and tanker operations.";

La bouée est située au poste d'embarquement pilote de la baie Placentia, à environ 153 m. de profondeur d'eau. Cette bouée a pour but de surveiller les conditions de surface à la station d'embarquement des pilotes afin de favoriser des opérations plus sécuritaires et plus efficaces des pilotes et des navires-citernes. La bouée est capable de mesurer diverses conditions atmosphériques et de surface, y compris la vitesse et la direction du vent, la température de l'air, l'humidité, le point de rosée la pression barométrique, la température de l'eau, la vitesse et la direction du courant (0,5 m de profondeur), la hauteur, la direction et la période des vagues ainsi que l'information spectrale des vagues. La bouée est également munie d'un système d'information sur les aides à la navigation (AtonIS) qui permet la transmission directe des données sur les bouées au pont d'un navire.Les données de la bouée sont disponibles en temps quasi réel et sont utilisées par AMEC EC Earth and Environmental, partenaire de SmartBay, pour générer des prévisions météorologiques et de l'état de la mer personnalisées pour les Placentia Bay ainsi que les prévisions propres au site pour cet emplacement à l'appui d'opérations plus sécuritaires et plus efficaces des pilotes et des navires-citernes.";

Using tabledap to Request Data and Graphs from Tabular Datasets

tabledap lets you request a data subset, a graph, or a map from a tabular dataset (for example, buoy data), via a specially formed URL. tabledap uses the OPeNDAP (external link) Data Access Protocol (DAP) (external link) and its selection constraints (external link).

The URL specifies what you want: the dataset, a description of the graph or the subset of the data, and the file type for the response.

Tabledap request URLs must be in the form
https://coastwatch.pfeg.noaa.gov/erddap/tabledap/datasetID.fileType{?query}
For example,
https://coastwatch.pfeg.noaa.gov/erddap/tabledap/pmelTaoDySst.htmlTable?longitude,latitude,time,station,wmo_platform_code,T_25&time>=2015-05-23T12:00:00Z&time<=2015-05-31T12:00:00Z
Thus, the query is often a comma-separated list of desired variable names, followed by a collection of constraints (e.g., variable<value), each preceded by '&' (which is interpreted as "AND").

For details, see the tabledap Documentation.
